Eve closes after failing to find a buyer

LONDON - Haymarket Media Group has officially closed its women's monthly magazine Eve today (13 October), following a period of consultation in which a buyer could not be found.

The closure follows a strategic review of the Eve portfolio by Haymarket Media Group, which also owns Media Week.
A Haymarket spokesperson said: "We can today regrettably confirm the closure of women's title Eve and its associated brand activities."

The spokesperson added, however, that brand extension, Evecars.com, will continue to operate.

The majority of Eve's 56 staff, 30 of whom worked in editorial, have been made redundant, although up to ten staff will eventually be redeployed within the group.
Eve was acquired by Haymarket Media Group from BBC Worldwide in January 2005 for an undisclosed fee.
In May 2008, the title underwent a revamp in an attempt to lure in more premium advertisers and attract new readers, but the revamp failed to arrest the magazine's circulation decline.
