ABC lines up multi-platform reporting

The ABC will tomorrow publish a new, monthly multi-platform report that will bring together print circulation and online unique user data in a single report.
The new report will detail month-on-month and year-on-year figures for both on and offline properties. It will also break out figures by geographical region, including the UK, Republic of Ireland and other countries.
The first report, covering January, will initially include on and offline data for five national newspaper publishers: the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday; The Guardian and The Observer; The Sun and the News of the World; The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph; and The Times and The Sunday Times. ABC said it hoped more publishers would follow suit.
Martyn Gates, director of newspapers at ABC, said the report would allow media owners, buyers and advertisers to get a better view of a media brand's cross-platform reach.
He also said the new format would help standardise monthly reporting of online audience data, already commonplace in print.
