Trinity Mirror appoints Alexander to new strategy role

LONDON - Trinity Mirror has appointed Max Alexander, the chief executive of Thomson Directories, to the new role of managing director of new ventures and strategy.
From October 22, Alexander takes responsibility for analysing and recommending business opportunities for Trinity Mirror's multi-platform media operations.
He will also be responsible for the overall online management for the group's digital recruitment business. Andy Baker, the company's director of digital recruitment, will report to him.
Alexander, who will report directly to Sly Bailey, chief executive of Trinity Mirror, has been offered a place on the executive committee as part of his appointment.
He has been chief executive of Thomson Directories since 2006, and is also a former managing director of CPW Telecoms.
Bailey said: "Max will work closely with the senior management team across the group as we seek to identify new opportunities across audiences and markets. He will play a pivotal role as we continue to build a multiplatform media business and we look forward to working with him as we drive through our digital growth."
